Replace the underlined words with suitable phrasal verbs from the given list. Change the form of verbs if necessary. Write the answers in the given space. One extra phrasal verb is given in the list :

Ans : The manager turned down the proposal.

b) She cannot tolerate bad habits.

Ans :  She cannot put up with bad habits.

Activity 2

Join the following pairs of sentences : 

a) Walk slowly. You will fall.

Ans : He and his brother cannot come .

Activity 3

Activity 4

Write a paragraph in about 100 words on the importance of reading newspaper. Use the following points : 10

Importance of  reading Newspaper 

Habitually, man is curious to know about various things of the world .The newspaper is the best thing to satisfy this curiosity of man. It is a paper that carries news to us. Newspapers tell us what is happening around us and all over the world. It is the store house of the knowledge and information . Newspapers are the supplier of all sorts of news, views , entertainments etc. Students also read newspapers to increase their knowledge. A newspaper is our best friends in our solitary hours or in a railway compartment. a newspaper is powerful medium of publicity. Railway timings ,government notifications, laws and bills, and project are given publicity through the newspapers . thus a newspaper provides us with a lot of knowledge.
